More About this Item

These advanced dual-channel TDRs help locate cable faults for responsive or routine maintenance; quality control checks in manufacturing, shipping, and inventory management; and performance checks on cables in hard-to-reach or hazardous locations. The Auto option aids in rapid diagnosis of the TDR trace; manual override allows fine tuning and identification of difficult to determine faults.

Easily set up and view traces on a large, high-resolution color WVGA display. Directional control buttons and soft keys make it easy to use. Extra high resolution, backlight, and user definable tones and color provide vibrance to the graphical display, making it easier to identify events on the trace. Use trace comparison feature to closely examine conditions between different traces.

The TDRs store up to 100 traces in the internal memory. Recall the stored traces to the display for analysis or compare with an active display to help in fault location. Use the included TraceXpert software to download to a PC via the USB port for reporting and analysis. An IP54-rated case protects meter from dust and rain.

This step TDR features a built-in 600 V CAT IV input protection filter for connecting to known live lines. Step TDR technology injects the signal at full strength until a disturbance is detected—perfect for detecting near end faults standard pulse TDRs miss. Additionally, it features Distance Dependent Gain (DDG) for a more even representation of the relative attenuation at all points along the trace. Automatically positions the cursor to the first major event along the result trace using the AutoFind feature; automatically detect the end of the cable with the FindEnd feature. Use the trace tagging feature to assign a name (up to 32 alphanumeric characters) to each saved trace. Stored traces may be recalled and compared to an active display to aid in fault location.
